WEEK 1 Introduction to Unit

- Review overview schedule and introductions.
- First assignment to choose a product from list below
- Begin research of products
- Illustrator map diagram will be uploaded Saturday 7th to be used as underlay
- Discuss travels and passports/ dates of trip/ (Students require a Sketch Passport/ photo- get VISAS)
- Review State of the World Atlas
- Review Edward Tufte book and Else/Where mapping book as reference (Unit10 shelf)
- First reading assignment- Tom Friedman’s ‘World is Flat’- first chapter “while I was sleeping”.
Assignment due Week 2, Tuesday Oct 10th
-Choose product, start research and overlay information on to illustrator map

WEEK 2 Research and design. Mapping analysis of global networks
TUESDAY, OCT 10TH - GROUP PINUP OF GLOBAL NETWORKS DRAWING AND DISCUSSION
Morwell Gallery // 11am-5pm
- Group pin-up of research- bring in product to discuss with one drawn map in illustrator overlay of global networks. Print out A2 size and pinup ready for discussion

WEEK 6 WORK SPACE AVAILIABLE FOR STUDENTS: Morwell 2.03 studio space
-Design sketches for vitrine.
-Organize material for building vitrine. Laser cut projects and use workshop lab. Create tests and samples
-For Tuesday Nov 14th: build three different concept 'vitrines' as test.
